The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund has been managing the “In Memory” Program and hosting a National Ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC since 1999.
“In Memory” honors those who served in the Vietnam War, returned home, and later died -- regardless of their cause of death.
It’s easy to apply on behalf of a deceased family member/friend. Applications can be completed online or downloaded and mailed. Applicants need to include a copy of the Service Member’s DD214, Birth Certificate, and two photos; a short Bio is optional. Links to the application is below.
Please note: if applications are submitted before March 29, families will receive an invitation to the National Ceremony in D.C. on Father’s Day. Family members will also be given the opportunity to read their deceased family member’s name aloud at the Ceremony.
To be included in The Wall That Heals Mobile Education Center’s Digital Display, applications should be submitted by April 15 to allow enough time for processing since it will arrive at La Salle Institute on June 2.
Let’s ensure all our local Vietnam Veterans who passed after returning home are honored and on display when The Wall That Heals opens to the public!
